We're The Aboriginal Outlaws and we love it when one of our own behaves Outlawly, with great Outlawness, or rather, doing indigenous shit in indigenous ways without asking for permission from any overlord or local underling. It's badass, legit, real and raw, and our guest exemplifies the kind of gung-ho, DIY, ask not from the colonizers, be a little nuts kind of gumption we so admire.
Today's guest hails from not so far away, in a little remote farm, off the grid and down the road from Aboriginal Outlaws Studios, on a bit of land, by the Salmon River (there's no more salmon), with her family and volunteers. An old piece of land amongst the trapping grounds of the great men of Tsisnyene in Akwesasne.
Her name is Jackie Hall and she's a wolf clan, she and her retinue are doing the whole #landback thing head on, with their feet on the earth, fists in the air, and seeds in the ground.
We've had a bit of disagreement with jolly wee Quebec over who owns said land, and the local wing of Canada has made some agreement with which real indians might take issue with, and are doing something about.
Join us and hear her tale of resistance.
We're the Aboriginal Outlaws, but our guest is both more Aboriginal and more Outlaw than we, give it up. We have a podcast, and we like to make you chuckle, and maybe learn you a thing. Find us on Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music, @aboriginal_outlaws and @aboriginal_outlaws_studios on the IG.
