Welcome back dear watchers, listeners, fans, and foes as we once again descend into the depths of our command center for another hard hitting, nail biting, heart thundering episode of The Aboriginal Outlaws Podcast.
The summer is hot and humid, sweltering, and as the temperatures rise, so too the fires in the hearts of Akwesasronon; and nowhere is that apparent more than the chosen social media platform of Indigenous People across turtle island: Facebook.
Recently people gathered to confront individual community members who have been implicated and investigated for some of the most heinous crimes we can fathom, and in the aftermath, folks have taken to the internets to voice their opinion and share their stories.
Today's guest named names publicly, and, inspired by feedback he received, unleashed an anonymous Facebook group. A place for victims to share their story, and for abusers to be put on blast. Following a firestorm of controversy and eruptions both positive and negative, he has withdrawn from social media and the group is on pause.
Today we welcome Isaiah Benedict into the studio to come tell the tale and share his experience on The Aboriginal Outlaws Podcast.

We live with existing systems of Western Justice, policing, crime and punishment thrust upon us from colonization.
Despite platitudes of safety, and rhetoric toward the protection of women and children, the powers that be often fall short, and leave no legal options. In that vacuum the people do what they must, for good or ill, a can of gasoline in search of a spark.
Such a spark happened this past week with the public questioning and search of a man with a reputation of violence towards women in the community of Akwesasne, and in this case possibly against children, and a now a fire is lit.
The people have begun to demonstrate, they've begun to mobilize, confronting perpetrators in the real world and taking their stories on that favorite platform of the people: The Facebook
A group page has been created allowing Anonymous posting to call out by name people in the community who have done harm to children and women
Such a venue can be a double-edged sword with positives and negatives, some obvious, some not.
On this episode Joshua and Isaac discuss the situation at hand what might have let up to it and the beginnings of some possible solutions.
Come join the conversation with this episode of Sage Against the Machine.

It's election season here on the reservation, and many people have opinions about leadership and change and things like that, and our guest has thrown his name into the running for the position of sub chief of the Saint Regis Tribal Council
Dr Sarah Konwahahawi Herne, one of the hosts of our sister podcast Womens Dance joins the conversation and helps shine a light on politics and some of the biggest issues facing us.
Trent David spent some time with us last year in the midst of the land claim controversy surrounding our community, and following that episode, our good friend direct actioned himself to a bench at the Akwesasne Casino in protest.
Now, once again, he's attempting to make change and do things a bit differently. He's running for the tribal council and he'll tell us all about it on this episode of Sage Against the Machine Podcast.
